Seto Asaka, born Ieda Megumi, is a talented Japanese actress and singer who has made a name for herself in the entertainment industry. Born in Seto, Aichi Prefecture, she was discovered by a talent scout during her third year of junior high school, who was reportedly pointed to her house by many people in her area.
With her birthplace as inspiration, Asaka moved to Tokyo and made her debut in the 1992 film Wangan Bad Boy Blue, earning a nomination for Best New Actress in the Kinema Junpo Awards. Since then, she has divided her time between TV serials, TV movies, and cinema, and has also taken on various commercial and advertising roles.
In the mid-1990s, Asaka began releasing music singles, issuing four in 1995 and 1996, and eventually three albums, with the last one appearing in 2002. Her acting career has also been marked by numerous awards and nominations, including the Best Actress award for her role in 2002's Travail at the 24th Yokohama Film Festival.
In her personal life, Asaka married Inohara Yoshihiko of the boy band V6 in September 2007, and the couple had a son in March 2010. They also have a daughter, born in 2013. Asaka has been recognized for her beauty, winning the Sixth Annual Parcassio Beautiful Legs Awards in the 30s age group category in 2008.
In addition to her acting and singing career, Asaka has also launched her own clothing brand, Violetta Chione, although the line was eventually wound down in 2010. She is currently managed by Foster Management and has released four photo books about her life and career. When she's not working, Asaka enjoys driving, collecting soaps, and shopping with her family, and has a fondness for Arrabbiata sauce, although she doesn't like cheese on its own.
