Biography

Arne Olsen, a graduate of the esteemed American Film Institute, boasts an impressive portfolio of 14 produced movies, including the notable titles MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS: THE MOVIE for 20TH Century Fox, COP AND A HALF for Universal, and ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN II for MGM.

Olsen's work has also been featured in the 2018 Voltage Pictures paranoid-thriller DISTORTED, starring Christina Ricci and John Cusack. In addition, his action pitch RAPID FIRE was acquired by Universal, and two of his original specs, DRAKE DIAMOND: EXORCIST FOR HIRE and COP AND A HALF, were sold in prominent bidding wars to Warner Brothers and Universal, respectively.

As a writer and director, Olsen's HERE'S TO LIFE (starring Eric McCormack, Kim Hunter, James Whitmore, and Ozzie Davis) garnered nine Genie nominations, with one win. He has also written and directed other notable projects, including the pilot ESCAPE FROM ATLANTIS for Starz/Encore and an episode of RELIC HUNTER.

In 2011, Olsen was nominated for a best screenplay LEO award for his work on the TIFF special presentation, REPEATERS. Currently, he has three movies in active development: the thriller SKYBORNE with Copperheart Entertainment, the animated feature SNOWBOT with Sepia Films, and the animated feature ZODIACATION with China's Shinework Media.

Throughout his career, Olsen has been hired to write, rewrite, and polish screenplays for various prominent production companies, including MGM/UA, INTERSCOPE, INFINITY, RHI ENTERTAINMENT, MUSE ENTERTAINMENT, RAINMAKERs REUNION PICTURES, and RAMPAGE, among many others.

As an educator, Olsen has taught screenwriting at Capilano University, VFS, and PRAXIS, and has served as a story editor/consultant on numerous produced features. He is represented by Carl Liberman of THE CHARACTERS.
