Antonio Marmolejo Cantos, professionally known as Antonio Cantos, was born in the captivating city of Antequera, located in the province of Málaga, Spain. His journey took him to the United Kingdom, where he pursued his passion for the performing arts at the renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. This marked the beginning of a remarkable career, as he went on to establish the Spanish theatre company TELON in London, and subsequently took on the role of theatre director at the esteemed Technis Theatre in Camden Town.
As the years went by, Cantos' creative endeavors led him to relocate to the picturesque island of Ibiza, Spain, in 1996. It was during this period that he founded the independent theatre company Fila Zero and meticulously built the Sala Europa, a thriving theatre space that has since become a hub for artistic expression.
Cantos' foray into the world of film has seen him appear in a range of productions, including David Winters' comedy Welcome 2 Ibiza (2003),the French movie An homme, an vrai (2003) directed by the Larrie brothers, and Santiago Tabernero's Presentimientos (2013). His impressive resume also includes numerous television shows, such as El Principe and Los misterios de Laura.
Most recently, Cantos has had the opportunity to collaborate with esteemed actors and directors, including Richard Gere on the BBC series MotherFatherSon and Antonio Banderas in Genius Picasso. Throughout his illustrious career, Cantos has consistently demonstrated his versatility and dedication to his craft, solidifying his position as a respected figure in the world of theatre and film.
