A person biography of Antoni Stutz, a Swiss-German filmmaker and artist, is as follows:
Antoni Stutz is a multifaceted individual with a rich background in both filmmaking and the arts. Born and raised in Germany to Swiss parents, Stutz's father, Hans-Joachim Stutz, was an architect and the managing co-director of HPP, a prominent architectural firm in Germany.
Stutz pursued his passion for the arts by graduating from college in Germany with a focus on Fine Arts. He furthered his education in the United States at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where he honed his skills in acting and film studies at UCLA.
Stutz began his career as an actor in his teenage years, appearing in television shows such as Tour of Duty and Michael Mann's Crime Story. His first feature film role was in John Frankenheimer's Dead Bang, starring alongside Don Johnson, Penelope Ann Miller, and William Forsythe.
In addition to his acting career, Stutz worked as a freelance director on commercials and music videos, including the iconic "ROCK THE VOTE" campaign for MTV. He also directed his first feature film, the comedy/thriller You're Killing Me, in 2003, starring Julie Bowen.
Stutz's subsequent film projects include the neo-noir thriller Rushlights, which he directed and produced, and Expired, a feature film he executive produced alongside Fred Roos and Jeffrey Coulter. Rushlights was included in the official selections of several film festivals, including the Montreal International Film Festival, the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the Newport Beach Film Festival. An extended director's cut of Rushlights was released in 2016.
Stutz has also explored his artistic side, exhibiting his paintings, photography, and multi-textural installations in museums and galleries across the United States and internationally. His first solo art show was held in 2005 at Bergamot Station, followed by an exhibit in 2006 at the Riverside Art Museum, curated by American art critic Peter Frank.
In 2014, Stutz's work was presented at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, and in 2016, he exhibited at the BerlinArtProjects Gallery in Berlin, Germany. His latest work, described by Peter Frank as "Sculptural Pop-Cubism," was showcased at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco during the 2018 inaugural "If So, What" international art fair.
Currently, Stutz is developing his next feature film, a psychological thriller, further solidifying his reputation as a talented and versatile filmmaker and artist.
