Biography

Anthony Reynolds, an American actor, writer, and producer, has made a name for himself playing authoritative roles, including law enforcement officers, federal agents, and military officials. His childhood fascination with character actors in movies led him to aspire to play supporting roles alongside leading actors.

After graduating from Cary High School in 1986, Anthony studied at North Carolina State University and East Carolina University, making annual trips to New York to visit theaters and museums. His college years were marked by personal struggles, but he eventually graduated from ECU in 1992 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Arts.

In 1993, Anthony and a friend drove to Los Angeles, where he slept on the floor of his high school friend's apartment in Studio City, California. This marked the beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry, with a small role in the USA network movie "Dead Man's Revenge" in 1994.

However, Anthony soon realized the high cost of living in LA and returned to the East Coast to study acting, recognizing the importance of formal training. He spent nearly two years in Atlanta, taking classes and auditioning, before his agent urged him to move to Manhattan to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.

In 1995, Anthony made the move to New York, living in a NYU dorm and studying privately with acting coaches Michael Margotta and Geoffrey Horne. He performed regularly in black box theaters and eventually landed a role as a stand-in for Sam Rockwell on the Woody Allen film "Celebrity."

This experience led to more stand-in work, including nine years of collaboration with Academy Award-nominated actor Edward Norton and four films with Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Billy Bob Thornton. Anthony credits his stand-in work as some of the best training he's received, allowing him to observe A-list actors up close and personal.

In 2007, Anthony decided to focus on his acting career, giving up stand-in work to pursue his passion. He has since worked regularly in film and television, maintaining bi-coastal representation and continuing to play authoritative roles that showcase his talent.
