Marjorie Lee Thoreson, later known as Anneka Di Lorenzo, was a stunningly gorgeous and enticing brunette knockout born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She dropped out of high school after her parents' divorce in 1967 and moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.
Prior to becoming a Penthouse Pet, Anneka worked as a receptionist, cocktail waitress, and topless dancer. She also studied acting and participated in several beauty contests. Her big break came when she was featured as the Penthouse Pet of the Month in the September 1973 issue of "Penthouse".
Anneka's popularity continued to grow, and she graced the cover of the December 1973 issue of "Viva". She then went on to appear in several 70's drive-in exploitation pictures, including "The Centerfold Girls", "Mama's Dirty Girls", and "Act of Vengeance".
In 1975, Anneka was named the Penthouse Pet of the Year, and she embarked on a coast-to-coast promotional tour of the United States, visiting war veteran hospitals. She also went on an international USO tour for the US Department of Defense from December 1975 to January 1976.
Anneka's career continued to thrive, with roles in the notorious "Caligula" and the cheesy Italian soft-core comedy "Messalina, Messalina". She moved to New York City in the early summer of 1977 and appeared in several films, including "Dressed to Kill" in 1980.
However, Anneka's career suffered a setback due to the poor reception of "Caligula". In 1988, she sued "Penthouse" magazine publisher Bob Guccione on charges of sexual harassment, but only won a small settlement.
Anneka's personal life was marked by tragedy when her body was discovered on the shore by joggers in Camp Pendleton, California on January 4, 2011. She was 58 years old at the time of her death.
