Biography

Anne Francine's illustrious career in the performing arts spanned multiple decades, with her most iconic role being the flamboyant Vera Charles in the stage production of "Mame", which she portrayed with great passion and dedication both on Broadway and in touring productions.

Starting out in the nightclubs, Anne made her professional debut in New York at the esteemed Coq Rouge, where a one-night booking blossomed into a celebrated three-year engagement. As her career progressed, she successfully transitioned from nightclubs to the legitimate stage, showcasing her versatility in both drama and musical comedy.

Anne's Broadway credits include notable performances alongside Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in "The Great Sebastians", Shirley Booth in "By The Beautiful Sea", and Maurice Evans in "Tenderloin". She was also a proud member of Ellis Rabb's acclaimed APA Repertory Company for two seasons, alternating with Helen Hayes as "Mrs. Candor" in "School For Scandal", joining Rabb and Rosemary Harris in "You Can't Take It With You" as the "Grand Duchess Olga Katrina", and appearing in Jean Anouilh's "The Flies" under the direction of Vinnette Carroll.

In regional theatre, Anne starred in a wide range of productions, including "Mother Courage", "The Importance Of Being Earnest", "The Skin Of Our Teeth", "Twelfth Night", and "Company".
