Biography

Annamarie Clementi's early life was profoundly influenced by her brother's intense passion and fixation on the art of cinema. This fascination had a lasting impact on Clementi, setting her on a path that would eventually lead her to the world of acting. The turning point in her career came when she was discovered by agent Pino Pellegrino while strolling down a street, who extended an invitation for her to pursue a career in acting. Initially, Clementi secured small roles in films, gradually building her experience and confidence. Her breakthrough role came when she was cast as Sister Angela in the controversial and visually striking film "Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals" (1977),directed by the notorious Italian exploitation filmmaker Joe D'Amato. This role marked a significant milestone in Clementi's career, as she subsequently landed a rare lead role in D'Amato's equally provocative film "Pleasure Shop on 7th Avenue" (1979). After deciding to retire from acting, Annamaria Clementi transitioned into a new profession, becoming a successful casting agent.
