Annalaura di Luggo is a multimedia artist, performer, and director based in Naples, Italy. In 2019, she was invited to the 58th Venice Biennale, where she showcased her work "Genesis", and in 2018, she was invited to the United Nations for her solo show "Blind Vision".
Di Luggo's artistic approach combines aesthetics, performance, and multimedia technology to create visually striking works that spark dialogue about social issues. Her work often tackles complex topics such as incarceration, environmental issues, human rights, and blindness.
In 2018, di Luggo created a solo show at the United Nations, titled "Blind Vision", which was later adapted into a documentary film. The documentary won several awards, including Best Documentary at the Niagara Falls International Film Festival and the Fort Myers Film Festival.
Di Luggo's most recent project, "Napoli Eden", is a series of four site-specific installations constructed from recycled aluminum, which encourages debate on sustainability in her hometown of Naples. This project inspired the creation of a documentary film, "Napoli Eden", which tells the story of the artist's life and work.
The documentary, "Napoli Eden", has received numerous awards and accolades, including the "Film d'essai" qualification and selection by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the "Project for the Promotion of the Country of Italy in the World". It has also won several awards at film festivals, including the Impact DOCS Awards, Hollywood Gold Awards, L'Age d'or international Arthouse Film Festival, Venice Film Awards, and Social World Film Festival.
