Virginia Ann Lindsay, later known as Ann Perry, was born on March 23, 1936, in Spokane, Washington. She attended a private Catholic school, initially planning a life of devotion and celibacy as a nun. However, her plans took a drastic turn when she met her first husband, Ron Myers, at a convent, leading her to abandon her aspirations of becoming a nun.
Perry's early career in the adult film industry began in the early 1960s, acting in soft-core films produced by Bob Cresse. She continued to work in the industry, eventually deciding to establish her own production company, Evolution Enterprises, in the 1970s. This venture allowed Perry to write, direct, and produce her own hardcore movies.
Perry's success in the adult film industry led her to become the first female president of the Adult Film Association of America (AFAA). She was a passionate advocate for free speech, frequently facing arrest on morals charges. Despite these challenges, Perry used her position to promote a higher quality of explicit hardcore content.
Throughout her life, Perry was married four times and had two children, including a son named Greg Yedding. Unfortunately, Perry passed away on September 11, 2015, in Los Angeles, California, due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease.
