Ann Hagemann, an American actor, is passionate about telling stories that need to be told. Born and raised in the Midwest, specifically Central Illinois, she has a deep appreciation for the "wide open spaces" of her childhood.
Ann's career in live theatre began with notable roles such as Catherine Holly in Tennessee Williams' "Suddenly Last Summer," Eva Peron in "Evita," the Narrator in "Joseph...Dreamcoat," Peter in "Peter Pan," and Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady."
She has also appeared on screen, co-starring with Emmy-winning actress Sharon Gless in the independent feature film "Hannah Free," which received Best Picture at numerous US and European film festivals, including Frameline in San Francisco.
Ann has worked on various projects, including the pilot "Rock and a Hard Place" with comedian Jim Breuer, the dark comedy "Farewell Charlie" opposite Eddie Steeples, and the film "Jenny's Wedding" starring Kathryn Heigl and Alexis Bledel.
She is also known for her role as Lila in the TV series "Chicago Fire" in 2019.
Ann has been developing a project of her own, "Say it in German," a period drama based on true events that occurred in the Midwest during World War II. The screenplay has received the Parents Television & Film Council of America Seal, the same distinction given to "The Blind Side" starring Sandra Bullock.
