Andy Rivera, a multifaceted artist, was born in May 1961 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. His impressive career spans acting, print modeling, and producing, with notable roles in films such as Gospel According to Harry (1994),Shooting The Prodigal (2015),American Genius (2015),King Lear (2015),and Impure (2016).
Rivera's passion for entertainment began during his high school and college days, where he honed his skills as a guitarist and singer. His early exposure to the entertainment industry continued while serving with the US Army in Berlin in 1993, where he landed a background role in the film The Innocent, sharing the screen with the renowned Anthony Hopkins.
Following this experience, Rivera was cast in a principal role in Gospel According to Harry, working alongside Viggo Mortensen. After a brief hiatus, he returned to the stage, performing in five productions at the Kelly Theater in Stuttgart, Germany from 2007-2008, showcasing his versatility as an upper tenor and soloist in Fiddler on the Roof.
Upon his return to the DC area in 2009, Rivera joined an Improv Group before deciding to focus on film, television, and theater acting. During 2014-2015, he was cast in 12 projects, solidifying his presence in the industry.
In addition to his acting career, Rivera is committed to supporting student filmmakers and often works pro bono with aspiring directors and producers in the DC area. His print modeling endeavors have resulted in his pictures being featured in publications, articles, and advertisements in the US, Latin America, and 11 other countries, following two photo shoots.
