Andrew Patrick Torrez, a formidable storyteller, discovered his passion for the craft while growing up in the vibrant US-Mexico border town of El Paso, Texas. As a young individual, he began to develop his skills by producing short films inspired by his unique upbringing, which was shaped by his experiences along the border.
Andrew's journey took a significant turn when he joined the University of San Diego's "Art and New Media" department. Despite his impressive talent, he faced setbacks, including being removed from the program due to his refusal to "play by the rules" and his insufficient Spanish Units, despite being half-Mexican. However, Andrew's determination and drive remained unwavering in the face of adversity.
Throughout his career, Andrew has made a significant impact in the industry, bringing to life television pilots, music videos, and a range of award-winning short films. His notable works include the critically acclaimed short film "House Hunting," which won the "Audience Choice" award at the Hollyshorts Film Festival, as well as numerous other accolades.
Andrew's proudest accomplishments, however, are the feature-length films he has brought to life. These include the psychological thriller "Sickness House" and the dark comedy "Under the Gun," which earned the "Beat Feature Length Comedy" award at the New York Independent Film Festival in Los Angeles.
