Andrew Keegan, a talented individual, was born in Shadow Hills, California. He first gained recognition for his charismatic performance as the teen rebel "Zack Dell" in the cult-classic film Camp Nowhere, which premiered in 1994. Barely in high school, Keegan landed a significant role in the blockbuster Independence Day, released in 1996. Following his immediate rise in popularity, the actor made guest appearances on numerous hit shows, including the TV drama Party of Five in 1994. That same year, he secured a recurring role on 7th Heaven, the WB's longest-running hit series, where he portrayed a single teenage father in love with Jessica Biel's character Mary.
Throughout his career, Keegan demonstrated his range, effortlessly transitioning between comedy and drama. His hilarious performance as the antagonist in the comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, opposite Heath Ledger, was balanced by his solid dramatic performance as Mekhi Phifer's best friend in O, directed by Tim Blake Nelson. In 2000, Keegan accepted the lead role in Greg Berlanti's critically acclaimed The Broken Hearts Club: A Romantic Comedy, showcasing a more vulnerable side of his acting range as the newbie. The film won the best picture award at the GLAAD Awards that year.
In 2009, Keegan made his theatrical stage debut in the provocative award-winning play "He Asked For It," playing the role of Rigby, a character grappling with the emotional issues of being HIV-positive in modern-day society. In 2010, Keegan starred as Strayger, a drug-smuggling pilot, in the high-octane action film Kill Speed, utilizing innovative camera technology to perform aerial stunts while giving his performance.
More recently, alongside William Sadler and John Heard, Keegan took on a darker role as the sadistic and sociopathic vampire named Blake in the film Living Among Us, released in 2018.
