Biography

Andrew Daniel Divoff is a Venezuela-born Russian actor and stuntman, renowned for his captivating portrayals of villains in numerous films and television shows. Born on July 2, 1955, in San Tomé, Venezuela, to a Russian father and an Irish-Venezuelan mother, Divoff's unique heritage has undoubtedly influenced his acting career.

Growing up, Divoff spent several years in Vilassar de Mar, Spain, from 1973 to 1977, before eventually settling in the United States. He is a polyglot, speaking eight languages fluently: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Catalan, Portuguese, and Russian. Although he once spoke Romanian, he unfortunately forgot the language due to a lack of practice.

Throughout his illustrious career, Divoff has appeared in a wide range of films, including the critically acclaimed "The Hunt for Red October," "Air Force One," and "Toy Soldiers." His most iconic role to date is undoubtedly the malevolent Djinn in the first two Wishmaster films. He has also had notable roles in "Another 48 Hrs.," "A Low Down Dirty Shame," and "Lost," playing the recurring character Mikhail Bakunin.

In addition to his film work, Divoff has made numerous television appearances, including guest roles on "The A-Team," "JAG," and "Highlander: The Series." His most recent recurring role was as Ivan Sarnoff on "CSI: Miami" Season 7.

A Georgetown University alumnus, Divoff's academic background in languages has undoubtedly contributed to his impressive linguistic skills. As a SAG actor and film producer, he has amassed over a hundred credits to his name. Divoff is also a passionate advocate for environmental issues, using his platform to raise awareness and support sustainable causes.

In his personal life, Divoff is a founder of Verdant Resource, Inc., a company dedicated to promoting environmentally responsible resource management. He is also a partner in a private water utility, Alpine Village Water Company, LLC, in Pinyon, California. Divoff was previously married to Russian actress Raissa Danilova from 1992 to 1998 and currently resides in Los Angeles.
