Andrew Benne is a multifaceted American artist, exceling as an actor, director, writer, and celebrated acting coach. Born in the iconic city of Hollywood, California, he grew up in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from Chatsworth High School's esteemed class of 1982.
Throughout his illustrious career, Andrew has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry. As an actor, he has appeared in numerous films and television shows, as well as countless national commercials. His impressive directorial resume boasts dozens of Equity-waiver hit productions, earning him two Dramalogue awards and an L.A. Weekly Critic's Choice award.
In 1989, Andrew opened his first acting studio, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey as a mentor and coach to a diverse range of celebrities and working actors. His unwavering dedication to his craft, coupled with his genuine passion for teaching, has solidified his reputation as an unparalleled authority in the acting industry.
Andrew's extensive education includes studying with prominent instructors such as Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Paul Sills, and Anthony Morina. He later began teaching under the guidance of veteran educator Edward Kaye-martin in 1988.
The celebrated Moment to Moment Studio, which Andrew founded in Hollywood (1989-1999),served as a platform for him to develop and refine his innovative Hybrid Meisner technique. This unique approach, which combines the best of various methods with his own distinct approach, has been taught to hundreds of working actors.
In 2000, Andrew was invited to teach and direct at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts Hollywood. He went on to establish and operate The Andrew Benne Studio (2001-2011),a thirty-five seat Equity-waiver Theater and acting studio located in the heart of the NoHo Arts District. This venue produced several successful hit productions.
In 2009, Andrew collaborated with his friend Fran Montano to form the Actors Workout Studio, which remains his Los Angeles base of operations. He also founded the Los Angeles Acting Studio in Beverly Hills, offering private classes and intensive acting programs in association with AWS.
In 2016, Andrew relocated his studio to San Diego and proudly operates Los Angeles Acting Studio SD, continuing to nurture the talents of aspiring actors.
