André van Heerden is a multifaceted creative professional with an impressive twenty-year career spanning writing, directing, and producing for various mediums, including children's television programming, documentaries, and feature films.
From 1994 to 2013, he was an integral part of Cloud Ten Pictures, a prominent international production, distribution, and marketing company, where he held the position of President of Film and TV production. During his tenure, he wrote, directed, and produced numerous feature-length documentaries and TV specials.
André is perhaps most notable for his work on the popular "Left Behind" film series alongside Kirk Cameron, as well as "Someone Has to Die" with Ving Rhames. He has also directed and written several feature films, including "Revelation", "Tribulation", "Deceived", and "Judgment".
Throughout his career, André has demonstrated his versatility and dedication to his projects, working with budgets ranging from zero to multi-millions and collaborating with actors of varying levels of experience, from first-time performers to Oscar winners.
One of his most notable achievements is writing the script for the first-ever feature-length virtual reality production, "Jesus VR". André's first documentary, created as a thesis project at Carleton University's prestigious Journalism school, was even sold to the National Film Board of Canada.
Currently, André is freelancing as a writer and director, and he also serves as the Communications Director for the Christian Labour Association of Canada. He resides in Ontario, Canada, with his wife and their four children.
