André Guiomar, a talented individual born in 1988, resides in Portugal. Throughout his professional journey, he has been associated with various film production companies and is a founding partner of Olhar de Ulisses.
In the realm of documentary filmmaking, André made his debut with "Our Land, Our Altar," which premiered at the prestigious Sheffield Doc/Fest. The film garnered significant recognition, including the Youth Jury Award at the ZINEBI Festival and the Emerging Director Award at the Porto/Post/Doc International Competition. His subsequent documentary, "Skin of Light," premiered in 2018 and won the Jury Prize at the Doclisboa festival.
Currently, André is actively working on his latest documentary project, "New Chung – The Strenght of a Bull," as well as a short fiction film titled "Saturn." In addition to his work as a director, André has also been involved in the cinematography and editing of films like "The Mother and the Sea" (2013),directed by Gonçalo Tocha, which won the national DocLisboa award in 2014 and received the best editing award at Cineport. He also worked on the editing of the fiction film "Mabata Bata" (2017) by Sol de Carvalho, for which he received a distinction at the Ouagadougou Panafrican Film and Television Festival for best editing.
As a producer at Olhar de Ulisses, André has been involved in the production of several films that have been selected for prominent festivals such as the Berlinale, Cairo IFF, and Curtas Vila do Conde.
