Anas Khalaf, a Syrian filmmaker, has found a new home in Jordan, having fled Damascus with his family amidst the tumultuous Syrian conflict. This multifaceted creative force holds an MBA from the esteemed Normandy Business School.
In 2010, Anas co-founded Synéastes Films with his wife, Rana Kazkaz, a production company that has been the catalyst for numerous innovative projects. As a writer and director, Anas has helmed three captivating short films, including the critically acclaimed 'Mare Nostrum' (2016). This masterpiece has garnered widespread recognition, being selected for over 30 prestigious film festivals worldwide, including the renowned Sundance Film Festival and the Dubai International Film Festival.
'Mare Nostrum' has also won a staggering nine international awards, a testament to Anas's exceptional storytelling abilities. Beyond his work behind the camera, Anas has also showcased his acting prowess, appearing in notable films such as 'Dégradé' (2015),'With Premeditation' (2014),and the television series 'The Bureau' (2015-).
