Biography

Anand Rajaram is a multifaceted artist who has made a significant impact in the world of theatre, television, and film. He is an actor, writer, director, puppeteer, mask performer, teacher, and performance artist, with a diverse range of skills and experiences.

Rajaram has worked with numerous theatre companies in Toronto, including the clown-based dance-theatre company CORPUS. With CORPUS, he helped create the Dora-nominated show Nuit Blanche, which he toured across Canada and Europe. He also performed in the show Escadron Volant/A Flock of Flyers, which won the Gold medal in performance at the International Francophonie games.

In addition to his work with CORPUS, Rajaram has worked on a number of other projects. He was a writer and animatronic puppeteer for the children's show Snit Station, and he created the one-person mime show Cowboys & Indians, which won the Artist Spotlight Award at the Summerworks Theatre Festival.

Rajaram's work with the Second City troupe brought him widespread acclaim, and he was asked to be a mentor/performer on The Second City's Next Comedy Legend tv show. He has also appeared in a number of other television shows, including the dramatic miniseries Across The River To Motor City and the comedy show Punched Up.

Rajaram has also worked in film, appearing in a number of features and short films. He has worked with directors such as Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta, and his film Death Threat was written and co-directed by Zarqa Nawaz.

Throughout his career, Rajaram has demonstrated a commitment to his craft and a willingness to take on a wide range of roles and projects. He has a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Waterloo, and he continues to work as an actor, writer, and director in the Toronto area.
