Biography

Amruta, a renowned Indian actress, has made a significant impact in the film, television, and theater industries with her recent appearance in Zoya Akhtar's critically acclaimed film Gully Boy. Her educational background includes a degree from the prestigious National School of Drama in New Delhi.

Amruta's professional journey began with a remarkable debut in the National Award-winning film Shwaas, which was also India's Oscar entry for the year. Her outstanding performance in the film earned her a National Award and a Filmfare Award for her supporting role in Astu. Throughout her career, she has starred in numerous critically acclaimed films that have received various awards and accolades worldwide, including the Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and the Fedeora Award at the Venice Film Festival.

In addition to her acting career, Amruta is also a trained classical singer who has lent her voice to several Marathi films. Her playback singing has earned her numerous awards, including the Maharashtra Government State Award for her work on the film Nital.
