Amala Akkineni, a renowned Indian film star, captured the hearts of audiences with her captivating on-screen presence, stunning dance moves, and captivating charm. As a strong advocate for vegetarianism and animal rights, she actively collaborated with The Blue Cross, a prominent animal welfare organization.
Born in Bengal to an Irish mother and Bengali father, Amala has an elder brother and sister. Her educational background is rooted in Kalakshetra, Madras, where she honed her skills in Bharatanatyam, a traditional Indian dance form.
Amala's remarkable career spanned over five decades, with a remarkable debut in a Tamil film directed by the renowned T. Rajender. She went on to star in a plethora of Telugu and Tamil movies, leaving an indelible mark on the film industry. In 1992, Amala tied the knot with Nagarjuna Akkineni, a Telugu superstar, and they had a son, Akhil, born in 1994. Interestingly, Akhil made his acting debut in the film Sisindri.
However, Amala's life took a dramatic turn after she experienced a series of profound past-life experiences. She bid farewell to the glamour of movie stardom and dedicated her life to helping the sick, beaten, and homeless stray animals in Hyderabad.
