Alyssa Lobit is a talented individual who has made a significant impact in the film industry. As an Academy Nicholl Fellowships Quarterfinalist, she placed in the top 5% of 5,050 entries with her award-winning indie drama, The Things We Carry. This achievement marked her debut as both writer and lead actress in a feature film, which went on to screen at eighteen prestigious festivals, including Boston, Hollywood, Atlanta, and Wisconsin. The film won several awards, including Best Feature, Best Actress, and Best Screenplay at the Wild Rose Independent Film Festival, as well as Best Narrative at the Flyway Film Festival and the Audience Award at the San Francisco United Film Festival.
One of the highlights of the festival tour was a sold-out screening at the iconic Hollywood Arclight. Alyssa's second writing and acting endeavor, Among Friends, is the directorial debut of Scream Queen Danielle Harris, starring AJ Bowen, Jennifer Blanc-Biehn, and featuring Kane Hodder. The film embarked on an international festival tour, screening at renowned genre festivals such as Sitges in Spain, Lund International Fantastisk Film Festival in Sweden, and Horrorthon in Ireland. Among Friends was later released in the U.S. by Lionsgate Home Entertainment and in Canada by Anchor Bay Entertainment.
Alyssa has also ventured into directing and producing, making her debut with the comedy One Man's Trash, which won the Los Angeles Flickering Image Film Fest and was a finalist in the IndieProducer Contest. She has received critical acclaim for her stage performances, including recognition for a standout performance in the World Premiere of Slow Boat and an LA Weekly nod for her performance in Night Coil. Alyssa has appeared in several short films that have screened and won awards at festivals across the country, as well as several commercials. She graduated cum laude from U.C.L.A. with a B.A. in English.
