Alireza Kazemipour, a renowned Iranian-Canadian screenwriter and director, holds a master's degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Tehran.
Throughout his illustrious screenwriting career in Iran, spanning over two decades, he has crafted scripts for an astonishing thirty-two series and mini-series, comprising more than seven hundred fifty episodes, as well as four feature films and fourteen MOWs. His work as a series creator, writer, head-writer, or co-writer has spanned various genres.
Following his relocation to Vancouver, Canada in 2016, Alireza has made a significant impact in the short film world. He has written and directed three short films that have been showcased in more than one hundred eighty film festivals globally, including the prestigious Palm Springs, Interfilm Berlin, Short Shorts, Tirana, and Fribourg Film Festival.
These short films have garnered an impressive sixty-four awards and nominations, including a LEO award for best screenwriting in Short Drama in 2023, the Best Direction Award from the Reelworld Film Festival in 2022, and the Best Directing Award from the Vancouver Short Film Festival in 2020.
Alireza's work often focuses on social justice, women's rights, and immigrant issues, showcasing his dedication to shedding light on pressing concerns and promoting understanding and empathy.
