Alexis Georgoulis, a talented individual, was born in the charming Greek town of Larissa. In 1993, he embarked on a journey to become a Civil Engineer by studying at the prestigious National Technical University of Athens. However, his passion for the performing arts soon took over, and he enrolled in the esteemed Jasmine Drama School in 1997.
Upon graduating from drama school, Alexis began his career in the world of stage productions. He teamed up with the dance group "Heresis" for the performances "Carmen 33" in 1997 and "The Return" in 1998. This was followed by his appearance in the TV series "Alice in Wonderland" on the ET channel in 1997 and "Death Agony" on the ET channel in 1998.
As Alexis looked to expand his horizons, he appeared in the short film "No One's Rose" and co-starred in the sitcom "You Are My Mate" in 2001. The show became a huge success, catapulting him to fame as one of Greece's most sought-after leading men. He went on to appear in various TV series, including "Oneiro Itan" in 2003, "Erastis Ditikon Proastion" in 2004, and "Oi Istories Tou Astynomou Beka" in 2007.
In 2002, Alexis starred in back-to-back feature films, the comedy "The Bubble" and the crime drama "Too Late Tomorrow". The success of these films led to his starring role in "Oxygono" in 2003, which won the Fipresci Prize at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. He then went on to direct the play "Good Luck" written by Bill Katsikonouris for the Progressive Stage of the National Theatre, followed by his direction of the black comedy "The Shape of Things" written by Neil Labute at the Kivotos Theatre in 2004.
In 2005, Alexis returned to feature films, taking on the lead role of Dimitris Georgiou in "Liubi". In 2009, he gained international recognition with his starring role in Fox Searchlight's "My Life in Ruins" alongside Nia Vardalos and Richard Dreyfuss. This film, produced by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, further solidified his status as an international star, extending his appeal beyond Europe.
Today, Alexis Georgoulis is managed by Sages Entertainment Group and can be seen in the upcoming film "A Green Story" alongside Shannon Elizabeth.
