Born in Adelaide, Australia, to parents Paul Williamson and Sharon Cahill, Alex was raised in the rural town of Willunga. His early interest in video making and media began at Tatachilla Lutheran College, where he honed his skills.

Prior to his Los Angeles stint, Alex worked a Sunday night shift at Adelaide Radio Station SAFM and national comedy radio channel Barry. In 2011, he was called to Los Angeles, commencing his job in April of the same year.
