Biography

Alex Montaldo is a talented actor based in both New York City and Los Angeles, with a passion for acting and music that has been evident since his teenage years. His fascination with made-believe and invented personas, such as the iconic David Bowie, has been a driving force behind his artistic pursuits.

Formal studies began for Alex in 2008, when he was offered a full scholarship to the Lee Strasberg Institute, Conservatory Program in New York City. He graduated in 2010 and went on to act in numerous plays in both New York City and Los Angeles.

While pursuing his acting career, Alex co-founded stoPD (support and training to overcome Parkinson's disease) in 2014, a bi-coastal non-profit organization that provides physical training, art programs, and support for individuals living with Parkinson's disease. This endeavor was inspired by his interactions with many Parkinson's sufferers, including his close friend Aaron Latham, a screenwriter and journalist who had been living with the disease for several years.

Together, Alex and Latham embarked on a unique revival of the American classic 'Golden Boy', with Alex playing the lead role of Joe Bonaparte, Latham directing and co-producing, and a cast featuring professional actors with Parkinson's disease in key roles. The show received widespread critical acclaim and audience interest from local and national media outlets, including CBS, NBC, CNN, and NPR.

Building on the success of 'Golden Boy', Alex and Latham collaborated on several other projects, including the play 'Orphans' by Lyle Kessler, in which Alex played the lead role of Phillip.

Currently, Alex can be seen in 'The Seeding', a psychological folk horror film directed by Barnaby Clay and distributed by Magnolia Pictures. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023 and has since acquired a cult following after its commercial release in January 2024. Alex's role as the ringleader of a pack of feral kids showcases his ability to portray offbeat, physically demanding characters and his strong screen presence.

In addition to his acting pursuits, Alex's music can be found on various streaming platforms under the pseudonym LYNX. He is also an avid tennis player, kayaker, and boxer, and a regular fixture on Santa Monica beach volleyball courts.

Alex is a dedicated advocate for animal rights, and his multifaceted talents and passions have made him a versatile and accomplished artist in the entertainment industry.
