Biography

Alex George Pickering is a renowned screenwriter and producer, represented by Citizen Skull Management, alongside his writing partner, Matthew Breault. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Alex earned his Bachelor of Arts in English/Writing from Georgetown University, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in Cinema-TV Production from the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts.

During his time at USC, Alex wrote two critically acclaimed short films, Efrain and Fig, which garnered significant recognition. Efrain won the FotoKem Gold award and was crowned USC's Best Film of 2011, while Fig was directed by Ryan Coogler and distributed on HBO and Kanopy.

Since then, Alex has made a significant impact in the industry, writing episodes for popular shows such as Puss in Boots Shorts and Kung Fu Panda for Peacock Kids. He has also optioned several feature scripts, including Crate and Impulse Control, with upcoming releases.

Alex's impressive list of accolades includes winning the Filmmatic Drama, Shore Scripts Drama, Script Pipeline TV, and Script2Comic contests, as well as being a finalist in prestigious competitions like the Nicholl Fellowship, Austin Film Festival, WeScreenplay, and ScreenCraft.

In addition to his writing endeavors, Alex is the author of the upcoming comic book series and graphic novel Heard, based on his award-winning screenplay of the same name. He has also set up his feature historical drama Jumpman with a prominent production company.

Outside of his writing and producing work, Alex is a skilled director, having directed commercials, promotional videos, and live events for LARAEC, LAUSD, and other organizations. He is also a Professor of Film at California Baptist University, sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of filmmakers.
