Brevard's life story began with his birth to James Upshaw Crenshaw, a gentleman farmer and city clerk, and his wife Mozelle Gillentine, a dedicated nurse. This remarkable individual's educational journey took him from high school and college in Tennessee, before he embarked on a life-changing adventure to San Francisco, California. His unique talents eventually led him to become a headlining performer at the renowned "drag club", Finnocios, where he captivated audiences with his mesmerizing impersonation of Marilyn Monroe. According to reports, even the legendary Marilyn Monroe herself attended one of Brevard's shows, drawn by the rave reviews. Tragically, Brevard's life was cut short due to pulmonary fibrosis, which he battled in hospice care before his passing. At the time of his death, his only immediate surviving relative was his sister.
