Noted Soviet and Russian film and theater actor, a renowned artist in his field, was bestowed the esteemed title of People's Artist of the Russian Federation in 2003, as well as the distinction of Honored Worker of Culture of Poland.
Throughout his illustrious career, he has had the privilege of starring in over a hundred films and television series, many of which have become iconic and beloved by audiences. Some of his most notable roles include appearances in "Four Troopers and a Dog," "Going to a Thunderstorm," "Zucchini 13 Chairs," "Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!", "Change the Meeting Place is Impossible," and the television series "The Brigade."
His journey in the world of acting began in a youthful theater studio, where he was mentored by the accomplished actor Leonid Weizler. He then went on to attend the prestigious theater school of B. Schukin, graduating in 1961. Shortly after, he made his debut as a host of the first KVN games, an opportunity that arose through the invitation of the director of KVN, Bella Sergeeva.
Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of performing with various esteemed theater companies, including the Theater of Satire (1961-1964),the theater of K. S. Stanislavskiy (1964-1966),and a theater-studio film actor (since 1966). Additionally, he has often appeared in Polish films and has been a part of the television program "White Parrot." He was also a leading figure in film dubbing during the 1980s, having lent his voice to numerous films, including becoming the Russian voice of the renowned British comedian Benny Hill.
