Alankrita is a renowned Indian writer-director who has made a significant impact in the contemporary film industry. Her most notable work is the critically acclaimed film Lipstick Under My Burkha, which received widespread recognition and accolades at prominent international film festivals such as Tokyo, Glasgow, MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, and IFFLA, garnering numerous awards in the process.
As a versatile director, Alankrita has also ventured into television, directing episodes and co-writing the first and upcoming second season of Amazon Prime Video's acclaimed series Made in Heaven. Her feature film credits include Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, which premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, and Bombay Begums, a Netflix drama series that follows the lives of five women in an urban Indian city, with Alankrita serving as writer, director, and showrunner.
