Biography

Taylan's journey in the world of theatre began with a prestigious education at Hacettepe University State Conservatory, where he earned a degree in theatre. He is widely recognized for his captivating performance as Iskender in the popular and critically acclaimed surreal comedy series Leyla ile Mecnun, as well as his work in various films.

Prior to his success in television and film, Taylan honed his craft in the theatre world. Between 1989 and 1993, he was a part of the Diyarbakir State Theatre, where he refined his skills and gained valuable experience. This was followed by a stint at the Theatre an Der Ruhr in Germany, where he collaborated with renowned director Roberto Ciulli from 1993 to 1994.

Throughout his illustrious career, Taylan has had the privilege of working alongside the talented Yücel Erten on numerous theatrical projects. In addition to his work in the theatre, Taylan also held a prominent position as General Secretary of the Devlet Tiyatrolari Sanatcilari Dernegi, also known as DETIS (State Theatre Artists' Association),until his resignation in 2006.

One of the many highlights of Taylan's career was his receipt of the prestigious Ismet Küntay award for Best Director in 2002 for his exceptional work on the play Misafir Sahneleyisi.
