Ahmed Mourad, born in 1978 in Cairo, Egypt, is a writer and filmmaker who initially pursued a career in cinema, studying Cinematography at the Higher Institute of Cinema and graduating in 2001 with honors. His graduation projects received awards at film festivals in England, France, and Ukraine.
Mourad's writing career began with the publication of his first novel, "Vertigo", in 2007, which was later translated into English and Italian and adapted into a TV series. His subsequent novels, "Diamond Dust" (2010),"The Blue Elephant" (2012),"1919" (2014),"The Land of God" (2016),"Deer Hunting Season" (2017),"Locanda Ber El Wataweet" (2020),and "Sphinx" (2023),have garnered critical acclaim and commercial success.
