Agata Trzebuchowska is a multifaceted creative talent, excelling as both a director and screenwriter. Her educational background is impressive, having graduated from the University of Warsaw and the prestigious Wajda Film School.
As an actress, Agata played the title role in Pawel Pawlikowski's critically acclaimed film Ida, which made history by being Poland's first Oscar-winning film in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Agata's foray into filmmaking began with her short film Heat, co-created with Mateusz Pacewicz, which premiered at the renowned Sundance Film Festival in 2017. Her 30-minute experimental drama Vacancy, produced by Munk Studio, has been screened at numerous international festivals, including the Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, Krakow Film Festival, and The Polish Film Festival. Additionally, Agata has directed music videos.
Beyond film, Agata has a strong background in theatre. She co-created a performative reading called Alice on Verge with the feminist theatrical group Polish Now, and more recently, directed a video for Agnieszka Glinska's play The Hearing Trumpet.
Currently, Agata is developing two feature screenplays, demonstrating her dedication to her craft and her passion for storytelling.
