Adil Ray OBE is a renowned British actor, writer, and presenter, best known for creating and starring in the hit BBC1 sitcom Citizen Khan. With a career spanning over two decades, Adil has made a significant impact in the world of television, radio, and comedy.
Born and raised in Birmingham, Adil's talent for comedy was first showcased on his daily BBC Asian Network Breakfast Show, where he created a range of characters. His unique style and wit caught the attention of comedy legends Charlie Higson and Paul Whitehouse, who invited him to join the performance team on BBC2's Bellamy's People.
Adil's success on Bellamy's People led to him creating and starring in Citizen Khan, which has become one of Britain's most beloved sitcoms. The show has received widespread critical acclaim and has won numerous awards, including four Royal Television Society Awards for Best Comedy Programme and Best Comedy Performance.
In addition to his work on Citizen Khan, Adil has also ventured into drama acting, appearing in Channel 4's groundbreaking drama Ackley Bridge.
