Biography

Adel Akkad, a talented individual, was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, where his passion for theater initially sparked in 2002 when he starred in his middle school's production of "The Deliverers". Shortly after, Akkad's family relocated to the country of Jordan, where he continued to nurture his acting skills.

During his time in Jordan, Akkad had the opportunity to take on various roles, including the Cowardly Lion in "The Wiz" and Roger in "Rent". In the spring of 2005, his theater arts teacher and mentor, Lara Atalla, cast him as an extra in the Italian-made-for-TV movie "The Holy Family", marking his debut on screen.

After returning to the United States, Akkad returned to Jordan a year later to work as a casting assistant, body double, and extra on Kathryn Bigelow's film "The Hurt Locker". In early 2008, Akkad was accepted into The Los Angeles Film School, where he will pursue a major in directing and a minor in production, commencing his studies in July.
