Biography

Abhijit Lahiri is a renowned actor with extensive experience in film and television. He graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD) in 1980 with a three-year diploma in acting and a national scholarship, making him the first person from Bengal to achieve this feat.

Lahiri also holds a six-year diploma in classical music (vocal) from Allahabad Prayag Sangeet Samiti, which he completed in 1971.

With over 25 years of theatrical experience, he has directed more than 15 plays in Bengali and Hindi. He worked with the NSD Repertory company for six years and conducted theatre workshops in Jaipur, Jorhat, Assam, Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar, and other locations, teaching acting, mime, and music.

Lahiri has also worked as the Department Head of Acting at the Institute of Creative Excellence (ICE) from January 2011 to November 2011. He has conducted acting workshops in various fields, including theatre, film, and television, in cities such as Kolkata, Assam, Delhi, Pune, and Mumbai.

In addition to his film work, Lahiri has appeared in numerous television serials, including "Thodi si Zindagi," "Intezar aur sahi," "Mungeri ke Bhai Naurangilal," "Sea-Hawks," "Double Sawari," "Pradhan Mantri," "Time Bomb," "Left Right Left," "Saanjh Grihadaha," "Kabhi Saas Kabhi Bahu," "Jai Maa Vaishno Devi," "Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari," "Koi Aane Ko Hai," "Jyoti," "Balika Vadhu," "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," "Swaragini," and episodic stories in "Crime patrol" and "Savdhan India."
