After a painful breakup, a weather forecaster from Seattle finds solace in her brother's home, where she begins a fresh start.
Sylvia, a 35-year-old weather girl, quits her job after publicly humiliating her boyfriend, the TV station's anchorman, for cheating on her. She moves in with her younger brother, Walt, and soon finds herself drawn to Byron, a charming computer programmer who lives in the apartment complex.
