Jim Harvey, a hired guard, is tasked with protecting a wagon train headed west. When the train is ambushed by Indians, Harvey leaves to negotiate with Chief Aguila, hoping to spare the lives of the wagon train's passengers. He is captured and the rest of the train is massacred, except for two sisters. Harvey escapes and later arrives in town, where he is accused of being a deserter and nearly hanged. Eventually, he is caught by the sheriff and his posse, only to be attacked by Indians once again. During the battle, Aguila, who is dying, reveals the identity of the white man responsible for the initial attack on the wagon train, just as the perpetrator arrives on the scene.
