Two out-of-luck individuals, Sonny and Donald, face a series of misfortunes when they lose their jobs. Sonny's gas station is destroyed, while Donald is fired by his boss's parrot. However, their lives take a dramatic turn when they thwart a robbery, earning them hero status.
