Marc Stevens, born Mark Kuttner on September 2, 1943, was an adult film star, memoirist, and erotic dance performer. He was one of the pioneers of the adult film industry in the 1970s, known as the "Golden Age of Porn."
Stevens joined the Army in 1960 and was stationed in Germany, where he had a chance encounter with Elvis Presley in a urinal. According to Stevens' memoir, he was shocked by Presley's small penis, and Elvis nonchalantly commented on his own.
The adult movie industry boomed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, with films like "Deep Throat" (1972) becoming hugely successful and threatening to revolutionize the movie industry. Stevens became a prominent figure in the New York City porn scene, appearing in over 40 hard-core films and publishing his memoir.
Stevens was openly bisexual and appeared in both heterosexual and gay films. He proselytized about the joys of swinging both ways and made some gay movies. He was photographed by Robert Mapplethorpe and performed with erotic dance troupes.
Stevens is now largely forgotten, despite nostalgia for the "Golden Age of Porn." He developed a serious drug problem and became involved in drug trafficking to support his habit. He eventually died a lonely death from AIDS, a broken and forgotten man.
