Three teenage farm boys, Will, Les, and Tod, help an injured bank robber named Harry Spikes, who recovers in their barn and eventually leaves, vowing to repay their kindness. When Will's parents discover his secret, he runs away from home, and the boys join him, seeking adventure without parental restrictions. They rob a bank, but things go wrong, and they end up in a Mexican jail. Harry Spikes bails them out and offers them a chance to work with him as a bank-robbing gang.
