An American journalist, David Kleintank, starts a new job in Riga, Latvia, with his friend Grant at the European Press Network. David befriends his neighbor, Robert, a nurse, who helps him with his car and they go to a nightclub together. After a night out, David accidentally hits a dark bike rider, who turns out to be Janine, a woman he met earlier. Robert convinces David to leave the scene without reporting the accident.
