The Big City

In 1960s Calcutta, a man named Bhambal struggles to support his family, including his wife Arati, who takes on a job to help make ends meet. Her new employment sparks tension with her in-laws, who disapprove of her working outside the home. As Bhambal loses his job, Arati's job becomes crucial, causing a rift between them. Meanwhile, her friendship with a colleague, Edith, puts her job in jeopardy and leads to impulsive decisions.
