The Baker's Son

The small town of Windward, on an island in Puget Sound, is struggling with a lack of tourists. Two family businesses, McBride's Diner and Duval Boulangerie, are operated by Annie McBride and Matt Duval, who have been best friends since childhood. Annie, a former painter, took over the diner after her father's passing, while Matt becomes an expert bread maker when he falls for Nicole, the lead dancer of the Philip Chandler ballet company, which has come to the island to rehearse. Matt's passion for bread making and his romance with Nicole bring a tourist boom to the island, but the townspeople are aware that Matt and Annie are meant to be together and try to keep the love alive for their economic benefit.
