The Adventures of Gerard

In early 19th century Europe, a French Colonel is tasked by Napoleon to deliver a secret dispatch to Marshal Massena, who is besieging a Spanish fortress occupied by British forces. However, the Colonel's mission is complicated by his encounter with a beautiful Spanish Countess, who is leading a guerrilla force fighting against Napoleon and seeks to steal the dispatches. The Colonel and a British counterpart both fall for the Countess, leading to a rivalry that culminates in a duel for her love and their countries' loyalty.
