Song for a Raggy Boy

A group of troubled boys are sent to a strict Catholic reform school in 1939. The first lay teacher, William Franklin, arrives to educate them, but soon faces opposition from the cruel prefect, Brother John, who administers harsh punishments. Franklin earns the trust and respect of the boys, including the class rebel Liam, through his kind and paternal approach. However, the prefect's sadistic behavior and abuse of power creates a toxic environment, leading to a confrontation between Franklin and Brother John. Meanwhile, a power struggle emerges between the prefect and Brother Mac, who is struggling with his own desires and is eventually forced to confront the reality of the abuse.
