In the world of burlesque, a drama unfolds when Crystal McCoy, the star of the show, is replaced by her predecessor Dolly Devoe. Crystal's replacement sparks a series of events as Dolly and Crystal engage in a bitter feud. Meanwhile, Blossom Terraine, a rival performer, seeks to take Crystal's place and uses her suitor Chick Malloy to back her claim. As tensions rise, Dolly's day takes a turn for the worse when Lola Cassell accuses her of driving a man to suicide. The drama reaches its peak when Dolly's body is found strangled in a dressing room trunk. Inspector Crowley is tasked with solving the murder, but as he investigates, he uncovers a web of secrets and lies that lead him on a wild goose chase. The list of suspects narrows as more bodies turn up, but it's not until Annie, the wardrobe woman, confesses to the crimes that the truth is finally revealed.
