Me and Orson Welles background

Me and Orson Welles

A rising star's career takes off when he lands a role in Orson Welles' Mercury Theatre production of "Julius Caesar" in 1937.

In 1937, high school student Richard Samuels meets Gretta Adler in New York City and forms a connection over their shared passion for the arts. He also meets Orson Welles, who offers him a role in a modern retelling of Julius Caesar at the Mercury Theatre. Richard becomes embroiled in Welles' unconventional production, where the director's demands know no bounds, including those of a sexual nature. With the opening night approaching, Richard must decide if acting in this production is worth the cost of his integrity.
