Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

A surprise birthday party for Norman's mother is being planned at the Chameleon Bistro, owned by longtime friend Eugene Crenshaw. Meanwhile, a community effort is underway to save the historic Steiner building from redevelopment, led by Norman's new girlfriend, lawyer Diana Graves. After the party, Hannah and Norman investigate an explosion at the Steiner, discovering human skeletal remains in the elevator shaft. The body is identified as Jerry McDowell, a criminal who went missing in 1995 and was implicated in a jewelry heist. Despite the case being a cold one, Hannah and Mike decide to investigate Jerry's death on their own, leading to a new challenge for their relationship.
